Introduction

The Oceanography Center of the University of Cyprus in collaboration with the Atmospheric Modeling and Weather Forecasting Group, Departments of Physics, University of Athens, Greece; Naval Ocean Analysis and Prediction Laboratory – USA Naval Postgraduate School; Cyprus Energy Agency; and the Meteorological Service of Cyprus; announce the organization of an International Workshop on Wave Energy Potential in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea: Quantification and Exploitation.

The workshop will be organized within the framework of the research project E-Wave, co-funded by the Republic of Cyprus and the European regional development fund of the EU through the National Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development & Innovation 2009-2010 by the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus. The E-Wave Project aims at the development of an integrated, fully operational high resolution system for monitoring the energy potential from sea waves at the Exclusive Economical Zone (EEZ) of Cyprus.


The workshop is organized under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2012.
